The Farthest You Have Been From Home- Blog Topic

I have been 3,967 miles away from home, and I enjoyed every mile. I visited Hawaii the in 2012, and it was amazing. As soon as I landed from the plane even the inhale of oxygen was much easier and purer to breath, than back home. The beaches were amazing, I found a full sand-dollar, and even saw some tortoises swimming while I was snorkeling. One day we visited a beach when it was high tide, the waves were huge a least 7-8 ft a wave, you saw people surfing and playing in the wave. I was instantly compelled to play in the waves, though I was unaware of the dangers that lye in the waves. I endeavored to play in the vast ocean with the 7 foot waves for a good 10 minutes, until I relized how far away I was from shore. Once I came to this reconigition, I instantly started swimming as fast as I could towards the shore, my Dad screamed at me telling me to get back to the shore, so I tried even harder just only getting pulled back before. My mind wasn't thinking about I am going to drown or getting eaten by sharks, but it was trying to swim as hard as I could through the strong waves. My Dad, finally finds a lifeguard near by driving on a four-wheeler, he flags him down by waving his hands and yelling help. My Dad still on the shore, tells the life-guard what is happening and points to me. The lifeguard comes and retrieves me to the shore. He then tells my parents that I was caught in a rip-tide and explains and shows us how we can distinguish rip-tides from non riptides. We then left the ocean and ate dinner.
