Lee Daniels Butler

Over, this past weekend I viewed the movie named Lee Daniels Butler, that is based on a true story. My Grandmother recommended it to me and said it brought her to tears. So, when my mother and I went to go see the movie we had high expectations. Those expectations were satisfied by the touching story of the butler. It was life-changing and eye awakening to see how poorly African Americans were treated down in the south.

It is about a boy and his life and how he started working in a cotton-field and ended up working as a butler for the white house. It started off with him as a young boy working in the cotton field and one day his mother was sexually abused by the farm owner. The boy knew what was happening to his mother and encouraged the Dad to do something about it.  The dad just said one word to the farm owner, "hey!" he said. Then the employer put a gun up to his head and shot the dad. The son was devastated.

As he grew up he went through a series of adventures that made sure he nor his family would ever see a cotton field again. This film also corporates the bombed bus, the KKK, the sit in, and other significant events that were happening during the civil rights movement. I would recommend this movie to anyone who wants to learn more about there countries history in an entertaining way.
